What is IPL

IPL Stands for Intense Pulse Light. It’s an alternative hair removal technology to laser hair removal. The intense light destroys the hair follicles to damage its ability to regrow hair. IPL removal features mild light intensity that makes it more suitable for sensitive skin types, and the removal process is a lot less painful compared to laser removal. Typical removal process takes once per week treatment and 10 weeks to complete. Clinical test shows dramatic decreased hair regrowth rate in as little as 5 weeks in 84% of people.

Can I use IPL? Color Skin Chart

IPL reacts to dark color photons in the follicle against a lighter surface. Majority of the light to brown skin tones with colored hair will react to IPL correctly. The darker the skin, the more pain during the treatment and thus low intensity level shall be applied. The exceptions are dark skin tones such as dark brown and black. Skin with these color will react to the IPL alongside with the hair follicles result in skin burns and depigmentation. These skin color should not be using the IPL or Laser hair removal treatment.

Is FDA required?

The IPL hair removal is not listed under Laser Medical Equipment to be regulated by the FDA. How many pulses do you need?

The highest number of pulses seen being used in a full body removal, including all larger areas such as arms, legs, armpits, bikini line, is 500. A complete removal treatment takes 10 times of weekly treatments. With 150,000 times of light pulses provided by SteticSense, that’s 30 complete removal treatments that last for life for one person, or divided treatments for multiple people respectively. Light pulses going beyond that point will most likely be wasted but has been paid in other products.

Quick start guide

1. Plug in the AC adapter to an electrical outlet and connect it to the SteticSense IPL Hair Removal device.
2. Make sure the skin in the area you wish to treat is shaved, clean and dry.
3. Press the power button to switch on the Advance.
4. Press the power button to select an appropriate level for your skin tone. It is recommended to carry out a skin test before first use on each area you wish to treat (see Instruction Manual).
5. Hold the device against the treatment area, making sure the yellow treatment window is in full contact with the skin. The green status indicator will stop flashing when good skin contact is made and the Advance is ready to flash.
6. For levels 1-3 (SLIDE-Deslizamiendo-) hold the shooting button down and glide the Advance across your skin. For Levels 4-5 (Pulse-IPL-) press the shooting button, hold the Advance against the skin and wait for the flash – then move to the next treatment area and press again the shooting button.
