LED Light Therapy. What is it and what does it do?

An LED, or light-emitting diode, is basically a special light bulb that only gives off light at a certain wavelength, or color spectrum. These LED lights penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin to cause and trigger reactions at the cellular level.

The three most popular ones used in skin care are red, near infrared and blue light.

The LED light therapy  has  anti-inflammatory and anti-aging,benefits. It works by stimulating cellular activity including fibroblasts that promote collagen production , which gives your skin a smoother, plumper look. It helps minimize fine lines and wrinkles, and it reduces sun damage and stretch marks. Red light can also be used to soothe acne by improving circulation and reducing inflammation.

Blue Light

While red light therapy can reduce inflammation, blue light therapy kills bacteria under the skin. This makes it an great tool for soothing and treating acne, which can be caused by bacteria in the pores. It is also known to help reduce excessive oil production in the skin.

Precautions: always follow manufacturer's recommendations. People who have migraines headache or have seizures caused by light should not use light therapy. Also people using certain medications that are supposed to avoid sun exposure should avoid LED lights.Check with your doctor if pregnant or have any implanted devices or skin cancer
